The project started with the Latvian, Swedish, Irish, Romanian, Turkish and Italian national anthems. Pupils got acquainted with the video produced by each partner about their school.
As Smiltene Secondary School emphasized mathematics in this project, the first activity was about slope measurements. The students made their slope meter from the CD case. Then everyone went outside and made a measurement. After they returned to school and calculated the length of inaccessible objects. Students also used their engineering skills and designed a useful structure from the particular object.
In the next activity, mathematics met chemistry. Students from the school’s Chemistry club carried out various experiments and the project participants had to answer the questions they had prepared. Later, at six stations, students improved their knowledge of chemistry and mathematics.
The students also made their hologram device and built ships with the highest carrying capacity. At the end of the project, the students visited the ZINOO Science Centre to learn about the Morse code. The event was crowned by the Math fair.
As the project had to deal with force majeure related to the spread of Coronavirus in Europe, all project activities will be carried out through virtual mobility. For the partner schools, all lesson plans and worksheets are prepared in the e-twinning platform so that each school can carry out the planned activities. A videoconference will be held later to allow the project partners to discuss the results achieved.
