Virtual STEAM activities organized by Latvian and Italian partners.

March 2021 was a big challenge for our project due to the limitations of the Corona virus. We had to find new solutions to continue the activities and achieve the project goals. As all flights were banned, the Latvian and Italian partners organized virtual activities for the other project partners on the Google meet platform.

In December 2021, latvian partners offered to go on a virtual trip around the world, putting the STEAM experience in a suitcase.

We visited ancient Egypt and built a pyramid of toothpicks, calculating its area and performing other engineering and mathematical activities. We also went to the Great Wall of China and built our zip line from one tower to the next. We also visited ancient Mesopotamia and learned coding by writing in cuneiform.

The Italian activities took place under the sign of the Italian genius Leonardo da Vinci.
The STEAM focus area of the Italian partners  was Art.
We created a self-portrait of Mona Lisa. We also found out what a perspectograph is and stated it. We got into Leonardo's skin and built a parachute. One of the most amazing activities was mirror-writing.! The cherry on the cake was self-made volcano Etna, using soda, vinegar and other ingredients. It really erupted!
